Objective:
To acquire a good practice of how to share files and personal data securely
Brief Description:
Sharing files is sometimes faster and easier over the Internet, but you should be careful. There are several ways to share files – e- mail, cloud, peer-to-peer sharing (not safe for sharing sensitive files), using USB and similar storage devices, but not all are equally secure and for all of them is important to protect them with password or in any other way.
More Information:
Recently, SFTP and FTPS protocols have been used for more secure transfer and sharing of data. Sending via e-mail is not always completely secure, while sending and sharing data via cloud storage is a little more secure. It is good to use secure file sharing and file host services. If you use USB and similar storage it should be protected with password. Use end-to-end encryption (only you and people you sent this data have access). Use secure provider. Use strong passwords. Turn on two step verification. Protect files and files sharing links with passwords. Set expiration time for downloading. Check files access (you can see who downloaded it or open and when). Use secure Wi-Fi network.
What do you need to replicate?
The procedure of learning people how to share their files securely.
