Problem and objectives
Objectives: Carry out a series of informative maps of a city with different objectives: tourist visits, activities of all kinds, or collect sites of interest by theme. Promote the maps on social networks
Tools and resources
A simple, cloud-based mapping application: Google My Maps or Google Earth. Social networks: Instagram, X and TikTok.
Description of practice
Training with the applications to be used to produce the maps. Skills in social media marketing and promotion activities, and knowledge of social media as professional users. Distribution of both the types or themes of the maps and the locations to be mapped
Expected results
Knowledge of information mapping tools. Knowledge of simple social media marketing strategies
Strengths or advantages
Strengths: to be able to bring added value to placements in the Social Education environment for students from all backgrounds. Students will be able to produce informative pieces in the form of geographical graphics that are socially useful and practical. That they are introduced to social media marketing by acquiring a series of competences from the point of view of the “professional” content generator, not at a personal or leisure level, of which they are usually experts
Risks or weaknesses
Drawbacks and risks: I would be concerned about” payment” in the form of personal data to large companies such as Google in the case of map apps, and Meta (Instagram-Facebook) X, or ByteDance from TikTok, etc..
