This year’s science festival at Ørestad Gymnasium was a remarkable success, focusing on the highly relevant theme of “AI, Robotics, and Data Privacy.” The event brought together primary school students who attended masterclasses in popular STEM subjects and informatics.
Participants explored a range of topics, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, big data, IT security, and the importance of GDPR. They had the chance to learn about the responsible and secure use of large language models like ChatGPT and the importance of data privacy in modern technologies.
One of the highlights was the introduction of a special Danish version of ChatGPT, called SkoleGPT (http://www.skolegpt.dk), which ensures data privacy by not storing user information—making it an excellent tool for educational purposes. In the robotics sessions, the attendees interacted with Fable robots from Shape Robotics (https://shaperobotics.com/), which provided a hands-on experience in AI-driven robotics.
Additionally, students were introduced to Teachable Machines (https://teachablemachine.withgoogle.com/), an engaging tool for understanding how AI models can be trained, making the learning experience interactive and insightful.
