On March 19, 2025, the Workshop on Data Security and Privacy in Education was held at the University Institute of Educational Sciences of the University of Salamanca. This event brought together teachers and future teachers from the fields of education and technology to reflect and discuss current challenges in personal data protection in educational settings.


Organized by the GRIAL Research Group and part of the European project SPADATAS (Security and Privacy in Academic Data Management at Schools), the event took place in Room 17A of the Solís Building at the University’s IUCE (University of Salamanca). During the day, the results and objectives of the SPADATAS project, which focuses on ensuring ethical and responsible data management in digital educational environments, were presented. The main objectives of the workshop were:
- To raise awareness about the importance of data security and privacy in education.
- To present the tools and resources developed in the SPADATAS project.
- To train participants in applying best practices to their teaching.
- To encourage reflection on current challenges in data protection in education.
The meeting took place in a collaborative and constructive environment, also serving as a starting point for raising awareness among future teachers about the importance of data security and privacy in educational contexts.
