The third transnational meeting of the SPADATAS project was held in Copenhagen on November 30th and December 1st, 2023. The gathering brought together representatives from all project partners, including members from Ramon Llull University (Daniel Amo Filvà and Belén Donate Beby), University of Salamanca (Alicia García-Holgado and Lucía García-Holgado), Juraj Dobrila University of Pula (Tihomir Orehovački), University of Maribor (Marjan Krašna and Helena Fošnjar), University of Southern Denmark (Emanuela Marchetti and Andrea Valente), Ørestad Gymnasium (Claus Witfelt), and I. Elementary School Čakovec (Ivana Ružić and Ivana Vadlja).
The transnational meeting took place at Ørestad Gymnasium, housed in a futuristic building that seamlessly blends traditional classrooms with open spaces. Known for its emphasis on media studies, media literacy, ICT pedagogy, and innovative teaching methods, Ørestad Gymnasium fully embraced digital education in 2012. During our visit, we witnessed third-grade students collaboratively programming robots, showcasing the school’s commitment to hands-on, team-based learning.
Over the two-day meeting, prototypes developed by Ørestad Gymnasium students under the guidance of Claus Witfelt were analyzed. Further steps were defined in the development of an open tool for data fragility auto-assessment and mapping in data academic management processes, aimed at maximizing the involvement of both students and educators in this crucial process.
Collaboration agreements were established for joint educational activities related to the project’s theme between students of the University of Salamanca and Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. An analysis of the quality of previous project activities was conducted, and plans for disseminating results through social media and scientific publications were outlined for upcoming international conferences and journals.
The meeting concluded with detailed plans for forthcoming workshops in elementary schools, aimed at collecting exemplary practices and generating open educational materials. The fourth transnational meeting is scheduled for June 6th and 7th, 2024, in Pula.
