Innovative AI Research on Data Privacy and Security Presented at ICMTT’24 Conference

Tihomir Orehovački, a member of the SPADATAS project team from Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, successfully presented research paper at the International Conference on Management, Tourism and Technologies (ICMTT’24). The conference took place at the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco from May 9th to 11th, 2024.

The research, titled “Leveraging ChatGPT for Semantic Analysis of TED Talks on Data Privacy and Security in Society,” addresses the critical issues of data privacy and security in the digital age. By analyzing 137 TED Talks, the study utilizes ChatGPT for summarization and semantic analysis to ensure fidelity to the original content. This approach enabled the efficient synthesis of large volumes of information, highlighting key messages, recommendations, and risks communicated by experts in the field.

The research methodology involved:

  1. Data Extraction: Collecting video transcriptions from TED Talks focused on data privacy and digital security.
  2. AI-Assisted Summarization: Using ChatGPT to summarize the content while maintaining the integrity of the original messages.
  3. Semantic Analysis: Conducting a detailed analysis to distill prevalent themes and concerns.
  4. Sentiment Analysis: Evaluating the emotional and attitudinal undertones of the content.

The findings demonstrate the efficacy of AI-assisted qualitative research in understanding complex societal issues related to data privacy and security.

Following the conference, the research will be published in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems and will be submitted for indexing in Scopus and the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC).
