The SPADATAS project recently celebrated the conclusion of the “Secure Use of Internet and Equipment” course with a comprehensive lecture on “Information and Computer Security,” led by Asst. Prof. Benjamin Lesjak, Ph.D. This significant event took place on January 17, 2024, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Maribor, showcasing the culmination of efforts by Prof. Marjan Krašna, a full professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Arts, and a dedicated member of the SPADATAS team.
Targeting students from educational study programs, the lecture aimed to prepare the next generation of teachers with essential skills and knowledge in digital security. As the final component of the MOOC course offered by ARNES (The Academic and Research Network of Slovenia), it emphasized the critical aspects of IT security within the educational and corporate sectors of Slovenia. Participants were immersed in discussions about modern IT frauds, the intricacies of Internet of Things (IoT) security, and the necessary steps to ensure data protection against cyber threats.
This event not only served as an educational milestone for attendees but also highlighted the ongoing commitment of the SPADATAS project to enhance cyber literacy and security awareness within the academic community. We extend our gratitude to Asst. Prof. Lesjak for his invaluable insights and to all participants for their engagement in this vital educational endeavor.
